Lent and Holy Week

We invite you to join us in the special events of Lent and Holy Week, 2019. Our Lenten theme this year is “Restored: Finding Redemption in Our Mess.”

 March 6 Ash Wednesday РWorship with the choir at 7:00 p.m., including prayer and imposition of ashes as we mark the beginning of Lent (40 days preparation for Easter)

March 10 – Reception of new members

March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day – Wear green!

March 24 – Special Music from the Hand Bell Choir

March 31 – UMCOR Sunday – Special offering for the United Methodist Committee on Relief

April 7 – Holy Communion

April 14 – Palm Sunday, Worship with a special focus on children in worship. Hear the classic music of “The Palms” in the organ prelude, enjoy our lively choir anthem, and sing the great traditional hymns of Palm Sunday

April 18 – Maundy Thursday, at 6:30 p.m. Join us for a simple supper of soup (bring your favorite bread to share!) and a time of exploring and meditation on modified stations of the Cross and the Last Supper

April 19 – Good Friday, at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 810 E. Commerce St., Milford. 1:00 p.m. Milford Community Service with Pastor Doug McMunn preaching and an anthem by the combined choirs of St. George’s, MUMC, and Milford Presbyterian Church

April 21 –¬†Easter Sunday at MUMC 8:30 a.m. Easter Breakfast, served by the Men’s Club. 10:00 a.m. Worship with special music by the Chancel Choir, “Journey to the Cross” an Easter Cantata

The Bell Choir is selling Easter flowers in Memory of or In Honor of our loved ones and friends. All orders need to be turned in to a Bell Choir member or the church office by April 7, 2019. All flowers will be displayed during the Easter Sunday service.

Note: Any flowers not picked up on Easter Sunday (directly after the service) will be donated to a deserving family.
