Sunday Morning Opportunities

Sunday School:  Meets September – May, classes available for all ages.  Classes for children and youth are divided by grade and begin with Preschool, then Kindergarten, First/Second combined, Third/Fourth combined, Fifth, Mid-High (grades 6-8) and Senior High (grades 9-12).  There are also two classes available for adults – one is a class aimed primarily at parents that covers various family topics and issues.  The other is a Bible study and/or topic study led by Pastor Doug.  All classes begin at 11:15am on Sunday mornings and end at 12:15am.    The children’s classes all gather together at 11:20am for “Assembly Time” where we have a short story or lesson (such as learning the Lord’s Prayer), prayer requests and prayer time, and collect our Sunday School offering.  This time is led by our Children's Ministry Team volunteers.  The Sunday School offering goes to support a little boy in Haiti through the Compassion International program.

Children’s Church:  Meets all year and happens immediately following the Children’s Message in the 10:00 worship service.  Children preschool through second grade go downstairs for their class which includes a story and several hands-on learning opportunities such as games, crafts, coloring, playdough, and others.  Older children (3rd through 5th grade) go to their own room for a class which explores a Bible story in a deeper way, also with some hands-on, team-building activities.

Prayer Partner Program:  This program includes all children of our church whether they come to Sunday School or not; we pair up each child with an adult in our church and each commits to praying for the other throughout the year.  The adults are provided with a current photo of their prayer partner child with contact information and they are encouraged to reach out to the kids to find out their interests, hobbies, things they may have in common,  as well as things they could use prayer for.  These partnerships are to last until the child is 18 and this way there is a bond formed that will last for years.  The church plans a couple of Prayer Partner events each year to provide opportunities for getting to know each other better and spending some time together.   Regina Olari is the contact person for this program.
